Today marks the day I have had enough. Over the past few weeks, I have seen the headlines pile up. Lost fire, police, and military professionals, who were husbands, wives, sons, daughters.
I am always impacted by the senseless loss of life of these selfless individuals who dedicated their lives to my safety. My way of honoring them is to volunteer my time to the Sheepdog Survival Fund. Yet we can’t reach them fast enough. Today marks my day to push back harder, to fight the way they would. To get better, give more, to erase these headlines for good.
To all first responders, know that you are supported. It often might seem as the public is against you and no one cares but I assure you it's quite the opposite. We are getting tons of donations from regular citizens that are giving up their hard earned money so you get home safe. To make sure you can beat the odds and never worry about how your day will end.
To all of our supporters, you are the heart of our organization. You give without hesitation and ask for nothing in return. Every cent you donate is making a huge impact in more ways than you know. We hear the stories, talk to these men and woman and see the impact. It's often overwhelming for us but is reassuring there is still plenty of good to go around.
